"A time to build up, a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones
A time to gather stones together..."
No matter how carefully we plan, most of us worry about the future, and checking the clock & calendar doesn't help much. There's little awareness of the greater timekeepers that the clock & calendar are based on - those of the sun, moon & planets. And the few who consult astrologers for information hear dates and possibilities but not in a form that serves as a convenient, practical guide. So I simply converted the major planetary cycles into a color graph I call a Future Map™, which is calculated in one year time segments for whatever segment of time you choose to map. And it's even magnitized so you can put it on your fridge and always know just what time it is and what time it's going to be.
Most incredibly, indisputable evidence in the form of an ancient computer known as the Antikythera Mechanism, discovered in an old shipwreck in 1902, indicates that the ancients wisely followed these cycles for thousands of years. This turns what we thought we knew about ancient technology on its head, and has left many experts sputtering or silent while they reshape their paradigm.
The Antikythera Mechanism..

So while we wait for science to finally acknowledge astrology as a legitimate science studied seriously for thousands of years, life goes on, in cycles, and within these cycles anything is possible, so your choices determine the outcome. "To everything, there is a season", and a quick glance at your Future Map™ will tell you which season you're in, so you can make the most of them all.

BirthPrint™
"know thyself"

You can gain profound insight from understanding your own birth chart, but a standard birth chart is pretty much impossible for anyone but an astrologer to understand. So I created an easy to read birth chart I call a BirthPrint™, which uses planetary graphics instead of hieroglyphics. This demystifies the process of analysis for everyone and makes the BirthPrint™ come alive with meaning.
An overview of the 3 basics of astrology - planets, aspects & signs and a one-page analysis of your BirthPrint™ are all you need to begin. The 3 basics are sufficient to gain tremendous insight, though you can choose to analyze your BirthPrint™ more deeply, into the houses and beyond. Astrology is similar to mathematics that way; we can learn only the basics and get by just fine, or we can explore it further, finding ever more complexity buried in the math. Unfortunately most people know little beyond their own sun sign, which basically equates to single digit addition. Imagine if our knowledge of math was as limited - chaos would reign! Some might say it does, psychologically speaking.
No matter how well you think you know yourself, your BirthPrint™ will help you discover layers of complexity and potential that will expand your world in all kinds of ways.

LunarChart™
happily mapping fertility

Ladies, if you wish to conceive a child, you need only to gaze at the moon to know when - it's true! As incredible as it seems, whenever the moon is the same phase it was at the time of your birth, and your reproductive system is in working order, you will predictably ovulate. That's it in an eggshell. The emergence from ancient obscurity of this stunning fact of nature occurred in 1956 when Dr. Eugen Jonas, a
psychologist and scientist from Czechoslovakia, came upon a fragment of an
ancient Babylonian manuscript that read "A woman is fertile according to the
moon". This inspired him to research its possible meaning and in very short
time he had the simple, profound answer. He then opened a fertility clinic that quickly became internationally known through his outstanding
success calculating conception dates. Dr. Jonas continued to help women conceive using the lunar method, and gradually more practitioners began to use it, though far fewer than this method deserves, so it still remains obscure.
And sadly, many who are having difficulty conceiving or are over 40 and want a baby are led to believe that the only route is through a fertility clinic, which is expensive, often painful and not often successful. With so much at stake, we need to know all the facts about all our options. And the fact is, the lunar method is safe, highly effective and costs next to nothing. When you think about all the ways the moon is connected to the rythyms of our bodies, it makes perfect sense and surely explains why the moon has been a symbol of fertility and motherhood since ancient times. So maybe we can regain our full awareness of nature's rhythms, one baby at a time.
And what's also astounding about the moon's connection to conception is that you can even plan your baby's gender. For while the father's x & y chromosomes determine a baby's gender, the mother's biochemistry, responsive to the moon, determines what gets through and when.
If you're interested in reading more on the subject, there are a two books I recommend:
Astrological Birth Control
Healthy Parents, Better Babies:
A Couple's Guide to Natural Preconception Health Care
Excerpts:
"[S]ome possible answers as to why this may be the case have to do with the moon's relationship with, and effect on, gravity, ionization, electromagnetic fields and light, and the effects these have on a woman's reproductive system."
"It is not surprising that the hormonal cycle has a lunar beat--the words for menstruation are derived from classical roots meaning month and moon--and many cultures worldwide have always acknowledged the connection between the moon, women and fertility in their religious, mythical and social traditions."
The lunar fertility method is a reliable way to plan conception, but it's not a fully reliable method of birth control. There's an additional ovulation cycle that occurs roughly 2 weeks after the first day of menses that is not reliably predictable.
So if you wish to let Nature show you the way, just follow the light of the moon...

About Astrology & Me..

Linda MacLeod Goodman
I've been an astrologer for over 30 years in my home state of Massachusetts. I first became interested in astrology in 1971 at age 13, when I read the classic astrology book, Linda Goodman's Sun Signs. The world began to make sense. Years of learning and practice followed, then in the early 90s I was inspired through the computer to develop a set of do-it-yourself astrology tools that help people help themselves.
I hope you find what you're looking for!

Hubble Portrait of Pluto
Some thoughts about Pluto's surprising demotion...
The recent vote to demote Pluto was hotly debated and highly contentious. And how ironic that Pluto lost its status in arguably the most Plutonian time in recorded history.
To illustrate the precariousness of Pluto's new designation as a 'dwarf planet', here are some telling recent excerpts from various news sources:
"[T]he lead scientist on Nasa's robotic mission to Pluto has lambasted the ruling, calling it "embarrassing". And the chair of the committee set up to oversee agreement on a definition implied that the vote had effectively been "hijacked". Dr Alan Stern, who leads the US space agency's New Horizons mission to Pluto and did not vote in Prague, told BBC News: "It's an awful definition; it's sloppy science and it would never pass peer review..""
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/5283956.stm
""I'm embarrassed for astronomy. Less than 5 percent of the world's astronomers voted," said Alan Stern, leader of NASA's New Horizons mission to Pluto and a scientist at the Southwest Research Institute. "This definition stinks, for technical reasons," Stern told SPACE.com. He expects the astronomy community to overturn the decision. Other astronomers criticized the definition as ambiguous."
"Stern called it "absurd" that only 424 astronomers were allowed to vote, out of some 10,000 professional astronomers around the globe. "It won't stand," he said. "It's a farce." Stern said astronomers are already circulating a petition that would try to overturn the IAU decision."

and just before its demotion...
""Everybody's been wanting to know, 'Is Pluto a planet?' " said Dr. Richard Binzel of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who served on the seven-member committee assembled by the International Astronomical Union to try to settle the explosive issue. "The answer is: 'Yes, Virginia, Pluto is a planet.'"
